About the web site

We have endeavoured to design our website in accordance with the guidelines in ”24-hour web 2.0”. For the contents we use XHTML 1.0 Transitional; presentation is designed via Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) 2.1.

We have tried to ensure that the contents of the website are accessible and usable by as many as possible. See also User Tips.

Browser
The website is displayed best in a modern browser which has support for the standards, e.g. the latest versions of Internet Explorer, Netscape, Mozilla, Opera or Safari (Mac). Older browsers show the same content but without the layout.

Script
The website contains javascript. These are used, for instance, to place the pointer in the right field in a search window, or to open certain types of links in a separate window. None of these functions are critical for the functioning of the website.

Dowloading files
Most VTI publications, memos, invitations to seminars etc are in pdf format. To open pdf files, you need Acrobat Reader which is a freeware program and can be downloaded from the supplier (www.adobe.com). Microsoft Word Viewer is a freeware program which enables those who do not have Microsoft Word to read Word documents (www.microsoft.com). There are also a number of zip files, i.e. compressed files. To open these you need WinZip (www.winzip.com). To open a file, click the link.

To save a file on e.g. a hard disk, right click the link and click ”Save as …”. Name the file and select where you want it saved.
